Goals of the Campaign:
Draft new legislation related to the following areas:
- To obtain justice for children in Cochise County, AZ
- To educate people nationwide how to keep their kids & families safe from child predators.
- Provide additional education and training to law enforcement, schools, sport's associations & churches
- Establish local task forces nationwide to aid law enforcement on child sex cases, by providing sex abuse experts, like speech therapists, doctors and occupational therapists.
- Levy resources to support mobile lab trucks to handle sex crime scenes to immediately test the evidence, rape kits etc. Rape kit backlogs are disgraceful and repeat criminals continue raping, without consequence.
Draft new legislation related to the following areas:
- Forensic Interviews with children; options for closed circuit TV in all states, so victims do not have to be re-victimized by their rapist in the courtroom. Options for therapy animals inside the courtroom and in forensic interviews.
- Change custody laws with offenders who have children
- Establish a national registry for sex offenders to address the gaps in the sex offender database
- Address sex offenders expiring off of the sex registry because of a judge's orders.
- Push for consistent sentencing requirements for heinous violent sex crimes
- Sex offender name changes need to be more regulated; lax system
- Booking requirements for sex offenders; suspects aren't always measured by height or weight, when they are booked, leading to incorrect database information. License information is frequently just copied from a driver's license.
- There are missing mug shots in the sex offender database. Photo guidelines need to be enforced.
